The games can be played in 4 different ways:-
Sense Of Safety is designed to raise awareness and make training sessions FUN, ENJOYABLE, INTERESTING and MEMORABLE.
The game can be played in 4 different ways:-
The winner of the game will be the Team/Individual with the highest number of points at the end of the game.
This allows the administrator to view all questions and results in the database of the game at the click of a button.
Questions can be sorted by:-
Results can be sorted by:-
In both Questions and Results section each question or result can be entered and a list is offered with the details of each individual or team that answered that question correctly or incorrectly and the dates it was attempted.
By using the questions and results analysis sections, a report can be built up to provide:-
By achieving these reports a Duty of Care is being provided as required by law.
Printouts of each individual's results including a list of all questions answered correctly and incorrectly are available at the end of each game and with each individual or group analysis search.
Each individual department, site or training session can have different questions assigned to it from this section. Up to 8 users can log in on the same game and then all play under a different department, site or training session in that game. This ensures that no one is ever asked irrelevant questions and only information that is required for their department or that training session is offered.
Any question can be temporarily removed from its existing question set and placed into the Specialist section. Questions can be removed from any or all of the individual question sets to create a set of questions that may apply to an overall awareness session within a company or an incident to which an analysis of knowledge is required. Every individual entering the game then has to answer the questions in the Specialist section.
This will allow any individual question to be disabled, or switched off, in any question set. This means that questions sets can still be used, but without the inclusion of those disabled questions. Any question that has been disabled can easily be enabled again and included back into the game.
Each result can be sorted and printed by the use of a Find functionality. A find can be performed on:-
Once found, these results can be viewed as an individual list and analysed using a browse facility.
In the settings sections the main settings of the game can be changed to accommodate each administrators/trainers preferences. Settings include:-
This section allows the administrator/trainer to pre-set each individual or teams name into the program and which training session or department they will be taking part in. If this functionality is not activated, then each individual or team will enter their own name and choose their own department or session on the game login screen.
A certificate can be printed off at the end of each game should that individual or team reach the required score. The score and the ability to print certificates functionalities are available in the Settings section.
Any individual result or selection of results searched for in the Find section can be archived into your chosen database. The results will be stored as a text file and can then be imported into any database program for future reference. The information stored will include the questions asked to each individual or team, which category the question came from, the points value of that question and whether it was answered correctly or incorrectly.
This allows any question in any category/sub-category to be amended and updated in line with new Regulations and Company Policies without the need to return to us.
This allows any number of new questions to be added to any existing question sets/sub-categories at each department/sites' leisure. Question sets can then also be shared between sites.
This allows any document, graphic, policy procedure, etc. to be added to any question for each individual to read if they do not understand the correct answer to a question, should they so wish. On answering the question, an INFORMATION button will appear on the screen, clicking on the button, will take them to the document (which can be viewed in any format) on closing the document, they will be returned to the game. The document can be updated or amended at any time in line with policy changes.
Should a player answer a question incorrect, a screen will appear with an explanation as to why the correct answer is in fact correct. This functionality can also be used to provide references as to where further information is available from.
BOTH DOCUMENT LINK AND EXPLANATION SCREEN ARE AVAILABLE VIA THE EDIT QUESTION AND ADD QUESTION SECTIONS.
By activating the Group Mode in the settings section of the game, it can now be used to analyse group sessions not only individual sessions. On clicking on the die, each player moves the same number of squares and is then asked the same question. When each player has given what they perceive to be the correct answer, the program displays how many players got the question correct and how many got the question incorrect. Those answering correctly, stay on that square, those answering incorrectly, move back. On clicking on the die the next time, each player again moves the same number of squares, this time some players are behind others, but are still asked the same question.
At the end of the game, a group analysis is available by a search facility, for each game, in addition to each individual.
This does not prevent individual analysis, but gives the opportunity to research any weaknesses the group had collectively in that session.
This will allow the administrator to export a list of chosen results in addition to archiving sets of individual questions and results.
Graphical questions can be added in the same way as text questions. Any graphic required is placed into the Graphics folder and linked to that question. These graphics can be images from existing training resources, downloaded or scanned from the web, or can be pictures taken on site of safe and unsafe situations. It is possible to include text with your graphic question.
Graphical answers can be added in the same way as text answers. Any graphic required is placed into the Graphics folder and linked to the answers for that question. These graphics can be images from existing training resources, downloaded or scanned from the web, or can be pictures taken on site of safe and unsafe situations. You can load a maximum of 4 answers to 1 question but it is not possible to include text with your graphic answer, as text and graphic answers cannot be mixed.
In the Standard version of the SOS Training Needs Analysis Program, questions can be added to existing question sub-categories. However the Advanced version will allow you to create your own question sets, or sub-categories and add them to any of the existing main categories. Both text and graphical questions and answers can then be added to your new sub-category question set.
More defined organisational hierarchy, this means that not only can different questions be sent to different departments, but the new version will allow different departments in different divisions on individual sites to have their own questions.
e.g. due to different machines, and Engineer in Department A on Site 1, may have slightly reworded questions to an Engineer in Department A on Site 2. The questions can then be tailored to each division on each site.
This is only and example and not meant to suggest that different machinery is used on any of the sites.
